I’m delighted to share some exciting news: Edwards Chartered Accountants has been shortlisted as a finalist for “Best Small Tax Practice” at the Tolley’s Taxation Awards 2026.
This recognition marks a significant milestone for us and reflects the progress we’ve made in building a modern, high-quality tax advisory offering for our clients in recent years.
What are the Tolley’s Taxation Awards?
The Tolley’s Taxation Awards are among the most prestigious accolades in the UK tax profession, recognising excellence across firms, teams, and individuals working in tax. Being shortlisted is particularly meaningful for an independent practice like ours that continues to offer a much more personalised approach to tax planning for our clients.
A journey of growth and specialisation, whilst remaining independent
Six years ago, Edwards did not have a dedicated tax advisory team. Since then, we’ve invested heavily in developing a specialist function that reflects how we believe tax advice should be delivered:
- Specialist, deep technical expertise across both corporate and personal tax.
- Considered tax advice grounded in experience and deep knowledge of our clients.
- Judgement-led, always focused on what is right for the client.
Today, our tax services span both corporate tax and personal tax, supporting businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals with clear, practical advice tailored to their goals.
From advising owner-managed businesses on structuring and growth, to helping individuals navigate increasingly complex personal tax matters, our focus has remained consistent: clarity, integrity, and long-term value.
While consolidation across our industry remains prevalent, with smaller firms being swallowed up by large consolidators, we’ve remained independent, owned by our directors and focused very much on the service we offer to our clients.
A firm-wide achievement
While this recognition celebrates our tax capability, it also reflects something broader.
At Edwards, we don’t operate in silos. Our work is built on close collaboration between tax, accounts, audit, and advisory teams, ensuring clients receive joined up, commercially aware advice.
This shortlist is therefore not just about one individual or one team, but it reflects fundamentally how we work as a firm. It is very much a shared achievement.
It’s also a testament to the trust placed in us by our clients and our wider network and community.

We’re especially proud of the people who have contributed to building our tax offering, both past and present. Their focus on quality, sound judgement, and doing the right thing has shaped the clear advice and service we provide today to all our clients.

The awards ceremony will take place in May 2026, where the winners will be announced.
Regardless of the outcome, being named a finalist is something we are incredibly proud of. It reflects not only how far we’ve come, but also the direction we’re continuing to take as a firm.
